Sharon is a small town located in York County, South Carolina, United States. It has a population of around 500 people and covers an area of 1.2 square miles. The town was established in the late 1800s and was named after Sharon, Connecticut, the hometown of several of its early settlers. Sharon is known for its historic buildings, including the old town hall, the Sharon Presbyterian Church, and the Sharon Schoolhouse Museum. The town is also home to several small businesses and restaurants. In terms of education, Sharon falls under the York County School District and is served by Sharon Elementary School and York Comprehensive High School. The town is situated approximately 40 miles southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina, and 75 miles northeast of Columbia, South Carolina.
